About us

terratec geophysical services offers surface geophysical and borehole logging services internationally with focus on Europe and Africa. Additionally, we offer airborne surveys in Europe and Africa. The main objectives are the acquisition, compilation, processing, analysis, and the interpretation of geophysical data.

terratec geophysical services executes these services for mineral exploration, groundwater/geothermal energy prospecting and geotechnical purposes.

The company was founded in 1989 and consists of 35 geophysicists and geologists who are fluent in a great variety of languages with offices in Germany, Mali, Namibia, Bulgaria as well as logistic bases in Austria, Sweden and Finland.

terratec has comprehensive working experience in different countries and climates from Greenland to South Africa. Staff and geophysical systems have been optimized and adapted to harsh conditions in remote areas.

DESMEX: Semi-airborne Deep Electromagnetic Sounding for Mineral Exploration

In DESMEX and DESMEX II ground-to-airborne electromagnetic (EM) methods for exploration of deposits at depths up to 1km were developed. The focus in DESMEX was on the implementation of the semi-airborne EM method. For this purpose, high power sources are installed on the ground and the induced magnetic fields are measured during an airborne survey. In DESMEX II, the results will be transferred to purely passive measurements based on the AFMAG principle and to drone-based measurement systems.

European HORIZON 2020 GREENPEG project "NEW EXPLORATION TOOLS FOR EUROPEAN PEGMATITE GREEN-TECH RESOURCES"

The GREENPEG project in which terratec is a partner started on the 1st of June 2020. It will adjust and develop geophysical and geochemical methods for the exploration of small-scale pegmatite deposits. Therefore it will be distinguished between Nb-Y-F (NYF) pegmatites (main source for high purity quartz) and Li-Cs-Ta (LCT) pegmatites (main source for Li).
We have 3 "brown field" demonstration sites in Europe for method testing: Leinster (Ireland), Tysfjord (Norway) and Wolfsberg (Austria).
