Dynamic Column Leach Tests

The aim of dynamic column leach tests (DCLT) is the quantification of leach performance and leach kinetics under conditions close to those of the ore deposit. Therefore, completely undisturbed cores from the mineralized samples are used. These tests allow a better understanding of the effect of the ore-lixiviant contact on the leaching performance. In addition, permeability enhancement methods such as acidification can be tested as well. Operational parameters are in accordance to realistic ISR wellfield conditions (porosity/permeability, aquifer temperature and pressure, pore volume exchange rate) and are monitored by real-time data logging/control. Undisturbed drill cores can be tested and analyzed for ISR feasibility and performance, while all relevant parameters (EC, pH, ORP, elemental concentration) are recorded. A reliable metal recovery curve will be generated which serves as basis of any operational and economic assessment.
